REVIEWING YOUR BATHROOM DESIGN BEFORE STARTING YOUR REMODEL
BATHROOM DESIGN, BATHROOM REMODEL, FREE STANDING TUB
We are always excited when a returning client comes to us to say that they would like to do a new project!
So Excited, Yeah!!. Well we have been asked to make over a very larger Primary Suite for our client and we couldn’t be more excited. This large estate has a combined square footage of 2100 sq ft for the Bedroom, Sitting Room, Bathroom and Closet. That is quite a large Primary Bedroom Bathroom Suite.
As you can see the floor plan shows quite a large shower and built in tub deck that consumes a large portion of the floor. Its dated and not very accessible. Our goal was to open up the floor plan and improve the overall quality of the layout and function of this bathroom. See the before picture below
We created a great new floor plan which would get rid of the glass block and open up the space for better flow. The new floor plan turned the toilet and we gave the home owner a more accessible entry to the shower. The tub got its own feature wall separating it from the shower. We thought this is brilliant!!
Until we met with the contractor and he discovered this wall by the toilet was a very big structural wall and could NOT be moved without a tremendous investment by the client.
Time to rethink this whole design. UGH - what to do. Through a little bit of thought process and time I realized that most of the bathroom design was fine and going to work great. So we put the toilet and structural wall back to save the client a lot of time and money. We kept the shower were it was and reconfigured how the tub wall joined the shower. I actually think the new design is very better than the first one. It created a separate accent wall for the tub where we can do a feature tile and light fixture.
We have implemented great features through out this upcoming remodel which also allows for easy access and flow to the whole bathroom. We even fit a coffee bar and custom chair into the corner. After we have finished the design layout and selected the materials we can offer our clients these amazing 3d renderings that help them realize the finished project before it even happens. Renderings of the bathroom are below which also highlight some of the materials we put into the project.
We recommend you hire the right team to review your project before pulling the trigger. See what a difference it can make to your remodel.
